Why finding a snowboard buddy takes more than a group chat

A good riding partner isn’t just someone who’s free on Saturday. It’s someone who wants the same kind of day. If you want to lap the park and they want to cruise groomers, or they’re hunting steeps while you’re still linking turns, someone ends up waiting. The trick is to match three things at once: where you’re riding, when, and how.

How Broski matches snowboarders

Where and when

Set your home resort and mark the days you’re free. Pick a resort and a date on the Find tab and you’ll see who’s riding. Heading somewhere for a few days? Add a trip and riders there will see you on those dates.

How you ride

Every profile shows whether someone skis, snowboards or both, and their level for each. Profiles also have interests and prompts, so you get a sense of whether they’re a park rat, a powder chaser or happy cruising. When you open a profile, Broski shows what you have in common: shared resorts, free days, passes and interests.

Then say hi

Send a request. Once it’s accepted, chat one to one and plan where to meet. With Broski Pro you can add a note to your request, filter by interests, age, language and pass, and get rider alerts when riders who match you are free at your mountain.

Riding with skiers too

Plenty of the best riding crews are mixed. If your new buddy skis, you’ll want to talk about flat cat tracks, where to stop and strap in, and how to keep the same pace. Our guide on how skiers and snowboarders ride well together covers it.

Meeting up for the first time

Meet at the base area or a lift line, take a warm-up run on open groomed terrain, and agree on a regroup spot before you split up in the trees. Stay inside the resort boundary with people you’ve just met. Read our Safety Tips and the slope and chairlift etiquette guide before your first day.

Q&A

Questions and answers

Can I see only snowboarders?

Yes. On the Find tab, use Filter to show snowboarders, and narrow it down by ability too. Both filters are free.

I ski and snowboard. How does that show?

Choose both when you set up your profile, and give your level for each. Other riders see both on your profile.

Can I find people to ride the park with?

Your profile has interests, so other riders can see what you’re into. With Broski Pro you can filter riders by interests. You can also host an event for park laps and see who’s going.

Does it cost anything?

No. Finding riders, sending requests, chatting and joining events are free. Broski Pro is optional and adds extras like advanced filters and rider alerts.
