Santiago Metropolitan Region, Chile

Find ski buddies in Santiago

Santiago's riders can see the Andes from the city and be on snow by mid-morning. La Parva, El Colorado and Valle Nevado, grouped around the village of Farellones, are reached by a famously winding mountain road and are busy on winter weekends. Portillo, near the Argentine border, is a classic for a longer stay. The season runs through the southern winter, drawing riders and teams from North America and Europe for off-season training, and Santiago's own crowd is keen and sociable. Sharing a car up the hill is the easiest way to go.
