Find ski buddies in Chicago

Chicago is a long way from big mountains, but that doesn't stop its riders. Wilmot, just over the Wisconsin border, is the closest hill for evening sessions, and Wisconsin's Cascade Mountain, Devil's Head and Granite Peak make good day trips or weekend getaways. Northern Michigan's Boyne Mountain and The Highlands are a popular longer drive. Many Chicagoans treat these hills as training for the big trip, flying out west to Colorado or Utah once or twice a season. Ski clubs are a big part of the scene and an easy way to meet people.
