Find ski buddies in Truckee
Truckee is the heart of North Lake Tahoe's ski scene, a historic railroad town surrounded by resorts. Palisades Tahoe, Northstar, Sugar Bowl, Boreal and Homewood are all close, and Mt Rose is over the hill towards Reno. Many people move here for the season to work on the mountains, and others are full-time locals who've chosen powder over a city career. Donner Summit gets hammered by Sierra storms, so the days after a big dump are the days to have a crew ready to go.
