Find ski buddies in London

London riders get their fix on indoor slopes, then head to the Alps for a week or more. The Snow Centre in Hemel Hempstead and the indoor slope in Milton Keynes are the go-to spots for practice and lessons. When the season comes, flights from the London airports and trains through the Channel Tunnel put the French Alps within a day's travel, with Chamonix, Val d'Isère, Méribel and the Portes du Soleil around Avoriaz among the favourites. Plenty of Londoners also take a winter off to do a season as chalet hosts or instructors.
