Edinburgh riders can practise on the dry slope at Hillend, in the Pentland Hills on the edge of the city, before heading north to the Scottish resorts. Glenshee, Cairngorm, The Lecht, Nevis Range and Glencoe are all within a long day trip or a weekend. Scottish conditions are famously changeable, so locals watch the forecasts and go when it's good, often at short notice. That makes having a group ready to go especially valuable. Many also head to the Alps or further afield each winter.
